On the site of the present church there was an old small Romanic style church, whose traces can be observed under the floor of the sacristy.
During the XVth and XVIth centuries it was enlarged at its present dimension, and the church dedicated to St. Peter was rebuilt in Gothic style.
At the beginning of the XVIth century, the church has undergone some changes, fortifications were added - an oval precinct with 7-8 meter high mantle walls.
