The Rogoz church is located in the Land of Lăpus, on the Lăpuş River valley, and it was built after the Tatar invasion in 1661 (event evoked by the inscription at the entrance).
The church was built by the congregation of the village in 1663 on the site of an older church. The structural characteristics are specific to this period of time.
In 1785 it was painted by the painters Radu Munteanu and Nicolae Man, as specified on the altar inscription
